PIN PARVATI

  • Day 01:  Arrival and stay at Kasol:  The guests arrive at our facility in the hippy town of Kasol. The first day is spent in local sightseeing and trekking the local villages. Overnight stay at Kasol with music and campfire.

  • Day 02:  Kasol to Barsheni to Kheerganga:  Kasol to Barsheni (drive) trek to Kheerganga (2960m) 5 hrs The trek from barsheni to Kheerganga is a 12 kms trek amongst beautiful lush greenery. Khirganga is a hot spring in the midst of a mountain meadow where Lord Shiva is said to have meditated.

  • Day 03:  Kheerganga to Tunda Bhuj:  Kheerganga to Tunda Bhuj (3825m) 7 hrs The trek commences through dense forests and flower-strewn meadows. The progress is gradual and slow as it's a steep climb to Tunda Bhuj.

  • Day 04:  Tunda Bhuj to Thakur Kuan:  The trail continues through a landscape strewn with waterfalls, lakes and meadows till Thakur Kuan.

  • Day 05:  Thakur Kuan to Mantalai:  Thakur Kuan to Mantalai (4116m) 8 hrs The trek up to Mantalai Lake is a gradual climb. Once at the lake, you can see the Mantalai Glacier, which is the source of the river Parvati. On the path, you will see the Pandu Bridge, which is made of a single rock on the river Parvati. It is said to make by the Pandavas during their exile in the Himalayas. Camping at lake site.

  • Day 06:  Rest and acclimatization Day:  This day we spend the whole day exploring the area as well as getting acclimatize for the next leg of the trek.

  • Day 07:  Mantalai to Base Camp to Parvati base camp:  From the Mantalai Base camp we trek to the Pin Parvati pass camp.(5320m) 7 hrs A steep climb takes you to Pin Pass (5300m). At the top of a large snow filled, crevassed hollow leads to the broad rocky saddle of the pass. At the top, one can see a splendid view of the snowy mountains of Hampta region on one side and the Pin valley of Spiti on the other.

  • Day 08:  Parvati base camp to Pin side base camp crossing Pin Parvati Pass:  Today we cross the Mighty Pin Parvati pass over to other side into Spiti valley. We negotiate around 3 kms of glacier walk, be exercise extreme caution today and follow the trek leaders’ footstep all the time. Once this glacier section is over there is a steep climb of around 300-400 m just before the pass. Once you reach the pass we spend some time here and then leave to our campsite for the day which is about an hour or so from the pass. The trail descends gradually for around 1.5 Km to the campsite.

  • Day 09:  Pin side base camp to Wichkurung Thach:  Today we have to reach Wichkurung Thatch our penultimate campsite for the trip. Trail descends down sharply for around 3Km. After around 1.5 km there is a stream crossing, after that the decent still continues. After around 3 kms into the trail we will cross the river to other side and continue our trek on this side of the river till we reach Wichkurung Thatch. Trail after crossing the river is pretty flat and hence a welcome breeze after 2 tough back to back days.

  • Day 10:  Wichkurung Thach to Mud then drive to Kaza:  The trail today enters a wide-open valley with numerous streams and leads into the ancient Mud village in the Pin valley of Spiti. From mud village we drive in taxi to reach Kaza. We will spend night in a hotel.

  • Day 11:  Kaza to Manali/ Kasol Via Kunzum Pass and Rohtang Pass:  This day we start for Manali/Kasol after a sumptuous breakfast. We will cross the beautiful Kunzum and Rohtang pass.

  • Day 12:  Rest day and return:  The final day is a day to rest or shop at Manali/Kasol. In the evening the guests return back to Delhi.
