Spiti Valley Trek

  • Day 1:  Arrival at Manali/ Kasol:  The guests have a choice to start the trip from Manali or enjoy our facility in the hippy town of Kasol. The first day is spent in local sightseeing and trekking the local villages and acclimatization. Overnight stay at Manali or Kasol with music and campfire.

  • Day 2:  Manali/Kasol to Chandertal Lake Camping:  On day two we will take a slow drive to Chandertal. This is a beautiful drive and with gorgeous vistas to enjoy. Chandratal or Moon Lake is a barren but beautiful lake located at a height of 14100 feet in Himachal Pradesh in northern India. The lake got its name because of its crescent shape. It is believed, Chandratal was discovered by traders who came to the region from Tibet or Ladakh. Locals believe that fairies still visit the lake at night. The fabled lake is indeed a paradise for adventure seekers. We will camp at the lake side.

  • Day 3:  Chandertal to Kaza:  Day 3 will see us travelling to Kaza, the sub-divisional headquarters of Spiti and Lahaul. Kaza, situated along the Spiti River at an elevation of 3,650 metres (11,980 ft) above mean sea level, is the largest township and commercial centre of the valley.

  • Day 4: Kaza to Key Monastery and Khibber:  Kaza to Key Monastery, Khibber and drive back to Kaza. Key Gompa is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery located on top of a hill at an altitude of 4,166 metres (13,668 ft) above sea level, close to the Spiti River. It is the biggest monastery of Spiti Valley and a religious training centre for Lamas.

  • Day 5:  Kaza to Dhankar Monastery:  Kaza to Dhankar Monastery [more than 1000years old] overnight stay at Dhanker The monastery is situated at an elevation of 3,894 metres (12,774 feet). The complex is built on a 1000-foot (300-metre) high spur overlooking the confluence of the Spiti and Pin Rivers - one of the world's most spectacular settings for a gompa.

  • Day 6:  Dhankar to Tabo Monastery:  Dhankar to Tabo Monastery [more than1000years old] overnight stay. Tabo is popularly known for its ancient monastery (more than a thousand years old) and caves on the cliff used for meditation. Tabo monastery is one the most fascinating archeological sites of the country. It has the magical realism to carry you in the past and exhibits you the series of historical events it has gone through.

  • Day 7:  Tabo Monastery to Kaza:  On the way we will stop at local villages to enjoy their quaint and warm hospitality.

  • Day 8:  Kaza to Manali:  On the final day we travel from Kaza to Manali followed by overnight drive back to Delhi.
